First and foremost, there are only a handful of clutch manufacturers, despite all the company's
online claiming to manufacture clutches. A clutch manufacturer engineers and stamps out clutch covers and clutch
discs. Original Equipment Clutch manufacturers are LuK, Valeo, Exedy and ZF Sachs. There are a couple of smaller ones too, AP (England) and Seiko (Japan). LuK is the
largest clutch manufacturer in North America, Valeo is the largest clutch manufacturer in the world. Both
company's supply clutches to most vehicle manufacturers. In America, Valeo clutches are fitted in 1 out of three
vehicles, that's impressive. LuK supplies clutches to European automobile manufacturers and all domestic
automobile manufacturers. Exedy is an OE supplier to most Japanese Automobile Manufacturers and also supplies
many domestic automobile manufacturers. ZF Sachs is OE on many European Vehicles. LuK, Valeo, Exedy and ZF Sachs are direct competitors going after the same customers (vehicle manufacturers
& automotive aftermarket). ZF Sachs is the smallest in terms of OE clutch business. Since it costs millions of
dollars to tool up and manufacture a line of clutches, you need to do a tremendous business if you ever expect
to make a profit (selling to Detriot). The next question is, how can a company that only sells online do enough
business to manufacture clutches and make a profit. The answer is, they can't and they can!
